SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

PNP elements of Bacuag Municipal Police Station while conducting scheduled checkpoint in Elrio, Brgy. Poblacion, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte on January 14, 2020 at around 11:20AM flagged down a motorcycle wherein Renante Padel Registos, 40 years old, male, single, laborer, a resident of Purok Greenhill, Brgy.Campo, Bacuag, SDN was a back rider. Said subject has a standing Warrant of Arrest for Violation of PD No. 1602 ( Illegal Gambling) under Criminal Case number 19-698, issued by Hon. Maureen B. Feliza-Chua, Presiding Judge, MCTC Placer-Bacuag, dated January 6, 2020 with a recommended bail of Twelve Thousand Pesos (PHP12,000.00) for his temporary liberty.

Subject person was apprehended and informed of his constitutional rights under Miranda Doctrine and Anti-Torture Law during the arrest and is now under custody of Bacuag Municipal Police Station for proper documentation.

 

Apprehension of Two Male Suspects for Violation of PD 1602 (Illegal Gambling)

PMSg Rodnie D Guzman received a mobile call form a concern citizen on January 14, 2020 around 2:15PM that there was an on-going illegal game coin flipping (Hantak) that transpired in the area of City Boulevard, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City. TRU operatives of Surigao City Police Station immediately proceeded to the aforesaid place and were caught in the act two individual engaging illegal gambling activity which resulted in the arrest of the following suspects identified as Rotchei Maglinas Enoya, 32 years old, married, passenger vessel crew, a resident of Purok 2, Brgy. Poblacion, Dinagat Province and Alejandrino Casas Manco, 42 years old, married, passenger vessel operator, and a resident of Purok 5, Brgy. Poblacion, San Jose, Dinagat Province.

The arrested persons were informed of their rights under the Miranda Warning and Anti-Torture Act.

Confiscated from the possession of the suspects was Bet money amounting to Two Hundred Twelve Pesos (Php 212.00) in different denominations as gambling paraphernalia.

Suspects and confiscated evidence were brought to Surigao City Police Station for filing of case for Violation of PD 1602 and proper disposition.

Accomplishment on Illegal Fishing

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

Personnel of San Benito Municipal Police Station conducted seaborne patrol operation within the municipal seawater of San Benito, Surigao del Norte on January 14, 2020 around 5:00PM. Upon reaching the seawater of Brgy Talisay of this Municipality, two fishermen were caught in the act engaging in illegal fishing activity using a triple net without fishing permit from Local Government Unit (LGU), namely; Archie Setanos Noble, 19 years old, single, male, Filipino; and Nicole Setanos Noble, 18 years old, single, male, Filipino, both residents of Barangay Caub, Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte.

Confiscated from the possession of the suspects were as follows;

  1. One (1) pump boat with one (1) engine KINGEAGLE 6 1/2 HP; and
  2. Fish net more or less 100 meters.

Suspects were duly informed of their constitutional rights under Miranda Doctrine and Anti-Torture Warning and were brought to San Benito Municipal Police Station together with the confiscated items. Case for violation of Illegal Fishing in relation to Municipal Ordinance No. 089-16 subjects for turn-over to Municipal Fisheries Administration for proper disposition
