PRESS RELEASE – February 12, 2020 Apprehension for Violation of RA 9287 (AN ACT INCREASING THE PENALTIES FOR ILLEGAL NUMBERS GAMES)

CIDG RFU 13 - Surigao del Sur PFU together with Surigao City Police Station, RIID (R2) and RIU 13 conducted Anti-Illegal Gambling Operation (Illegal Number Games) on February 11, 2020 at about 8:50PM in Purok Santan, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City which eventually resulted in the arrest of PAOLO GOMEZ QUIZON, male, 58 years old, married, and a resident of Borromeo St., Vasquez, Washington, Surigao City; ERNESTO CATUBIGAN RENDON  JR., male, 49 years old, married, and a resident of P-3, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City; ISRAELITO ESTRADA APOLE, male, 55 years old, married, and a resident of P-1A, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City; ROMEO OCHAVO VASQUEZ , male, 61 years old, married, and a resident of P-4, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City; CESAR SEMBRANO RENDORA, male, 65 years old, single, and a resident of Villa Gertrudes, Brgy. Sabang 3, Surigao City; ELEANOR RABUYO QUIOCO, female, 48 years old, married, and a resident of Punta Bilang-bilang, Brgy. Taft, Surigao del Sur; ALMAR ELORZA ECOBEN, male, 19 years old, single, and a resident of P-3, Brgy. Sabang, Surigao City; LUCELYN ONG CATUBIGAN, female, 35 years old, single, and a resident of Purok Santan, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City; JOVY RENDON AYING , female, 42 years old, married, and a resident of KM2, Telecom Heights, Surigao City; and ERLINDA OCUASO MESA, female, 38 years old, married, and a resident of P-8, Brgy San Juan, Surigao City.

The arrested persons was informed of her Constitutional Rights under the Miranda Doctrine and the Anti-Torture Law upon her arrest.

Confiscated items from the possession and control of suspects were listed as follows;

1. One (1) pc One Hundred Peso Bill (Php 100.00) Bet money;
2. Cash proceeds amounting to Php 5,526.00 in different denomination;
3. Five (5) pcs filled up tally sheet (improvised);
4. Five (5) pcs Calculators;
5. Two (2) pcs unused stub (improvised);
6. One (1) pc used stub;
7. Eight (8) pcs Identification Card (JGM Gaming and Leisure Corp.);
8. Six (6) pcs Blue Ballpen;
9. Thirty (30) pcs PCSO Swertres Tip;
10. Seven (7) pcs Basket Coin;
11. Ten (10) pcs used carbon stub;
12. Two (2) pcs Staplers, and
13. One (1) pc duplicate swertres stub filled up w/bet numbers 617 and 865 with betted total amount of Php100.00.

Arrested suspects and confiscated evidences are now under the custody of CIDG RFU13 – Surigao del Norte PFU for documentation and proper disposition.
