Personnel of Surigao City Police Station, Subpoena/Warrant Section conducted operation on March 11, 2020 at around 7:30AM in Purok 4, Brgy. Canlanipa, Surigao City, that resulted in the arrest of TNW (Minor), 17 years old, single, laborer, and a resident of Purok 4, Brgy Canlanipa, Surigao City by Virtue of Warrant of Arrest dated February 20, 2020 issued by Presiding Judge Hon. Jacqueline J. Ongpauco-Cortel, of RTC Br. 29, Surigao City. Subject was informed of his rights under the Miranda Warning and Anti-Torture during the arrest.
The arrested person is charged for Viol. Of RA 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016) docketed under Criminal Case Number 13844 with recommended bail Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (P300, 000.00). Subject is in the custody of Surigao City Police Station for proper disposition.
Arrest of Illegal Drug Personality (HVI) thru Buy-bust
Elements of Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of Surigao City Police Station and PDEA RO 13 SDN personnel conducted buy-bust operation on March 11, 2020 at about 9:00AM in Purok Fortune, Espina Extension, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City. Which eventually resulted in the arrest of one MITCHELL PREDOG MIANO a.k.a. Tata Miano, Filipino, female, 39 years old, unemployed and a resident of same place. Said suspect was previously arrested sometimes in February 2018 for violation of RA Nr. 9165 and was released from correctional last June 2019 after she pleaded guilty during arraignment and same avails the plea bargaining agreement but said suspect again engaged in illegal drugs acts recently thus, considered as High Value Individual (HVI). The arrested person was informed of her Constitutional Rights under the Miranda Doctrine and the Anti-Torture Law upon her arrest.
Confiscated items from the possession and control of suspect were listed as follows;
- One (1) plastic sachet of suspected Shabu bought by the poseur-buyer from the arrested suspect with an estimated weight at more or less 0.05 gram with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of Five Hundred Ninety Pesos (P 590.00) @ (Php 11,800.00) per gram;
- One (1) Five Hundred Peso Bill (P 500.00) marked money;
- One (1) black Itel cellular phone;
- One (1) plastic sachet of suspected Shabu with an estimated weight at more or less .05 gram with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of Five Hundred Ninety Pesos (P 590.00) @ (Php 11,800.00) per gram;
The body search on the arrested suspect mentioned was done in an orderly manner and duly witnessed by Hon. Joselito Eviota, Barangay Kagawad of Brgy. Taft, Surigao City and Mr. Jerson Galotera, Media representative from RMN-DXRS.
A case for violation of Section 5 and 11 Article II, of RA 9165 was being prepared for filing in court against the mentioned arrested suspect.
Apprehension of Wanted Person
Personnel of Surigao City Police Station arrested one Remar Daglis Galgo, male, 18 years old, single, student, and a resident of Fish Landing, Parrucho St, Brgy Washington, Surigao City, on March 11, 2020 at about 4:15pm with the same address, by Virtue of Warrant of Arrest charged for Viol. of Sec. 5(b) of RA 7610 docketed under Criminal Case No. 14761 dated February 14, 2020 issued by Hon. Jacqueline J. Ongpauco-Cortel, Presiding Judge of RTC Br. 29, Surigao City with a bail recommended of One Hundred Eighty Thousand Pesos (Php180,000.00).
The arresting Police Officers duly presented the Warrant of Arrest and informed his Constitutional Rights under the Miranda Doctrine and Anti-Torture Law. Documentation is now being prepared by Surigao City Police Station for the information of the issuing Court.
Apprehension of Wanted Person
Joint operation with personnel of Tagana-an Municipal Police Station and personnel of 13th Criminal Investigation Detection Team apprehended Giovanni Espuerta Nabines, male, 32 years old, with live-in partner, fisherman, Efren Odtojan Gasque, male, 53 years old, with live-in partner, fisherman and Daryll Posadas Copag, male, 28 years old, with live-in partner, fisherman and all residents of Purok 5, Brgy. Cawilan, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte on March 11, 2020 at about 2:30 PM, by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for violation of Section 101 of RA 10654 otherwise known as “AN ACT TO PREVENT, DETER AND ELIMINATE ILLEGAL, UNREPORTED AND UNREGULATED FISHING, AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8550” under Criminal Case No 2020-02 of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Claver issued by Melinda B. Mantilla, Presiding Judge dated January 22, 2020.
Said apprehended persons were informed of their Constitutional Rights as construed in the Miranda Doctrine to the language known to them. Recommended bail for their temporary liberty is hereby fixed at Php 36,000 each. They are now in custody of Tagana-an Municipal Police Station pending for the commitment order from the issuing court.
