Press Release – June 15, 2020 Campaign Against Illegal Gambling

A phone call from a concerned citizen was received by Bacuag MPS on June 14, 2020 at about 12:30PM, that an ongoing illegal cockfighting transpired at Brgy. Poblacion, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte.

Immediately, personnel of Bacuag MPS proceeded to the aforesaid place and apprehended Edison S Ladero, 18 years old, and Jaymar Madera, 18 years old, all male, single, jobless and residents of Brgy. Poblacion, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte for violation to PD 1602 (Illegal Cockfighting) and Municipal Ordinance No. 005  “Prohibition on mass gathering and exercise of social distancing and non-wearing of facemask.

The arrested suspects were informed of their rights under the Miranda Warning and Anti-Torture Act.

Confiscated from the possession of the suspects were:

a. Two fighting cocks with gaffs; and

b. Bet money amounting to Three Thousand Six Hundred Pesos (Php 3,600.00) in different denominations.

Suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence are now under the custody of Bacuag MPS for proper disposition.

A phone call from a concerned citizen was received by Taganaan Municipal Police Station that an ongoing illegal cockfighting transpired at Sitio Dijo Purok 6, Brgy. Ban-Ban, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte on June 14, 2020 at about 2:30PM.

Immediately, personnel of Taganaan MPS proceeded to the aforesaid place and apprehended Franco Buico Quisto Jr, 52 years old, single, jobless and a resident of Purok 6, Brgy Ban-ban Tagana-an, SDN for violation to PD 1602 (Illegal Cockfighting). The suspect was caught in the act engaged in illegal cockfighting while the others scampered to different direction and evaded the arrest. Other personalities involved but managed to escape were identified as MC Dave Purol, a resident of Purok 2, Brgy. Aurora, Tagana-an, SDN and Ramil Gonzaga, gaffer, a resident of Nueva Extension, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City.

The arrested suspect was informed of his rights under the Miranda Warning and Anti-Torture Act.

Confiscated from the possession of the suspect were:

a. One dead fighting cock with gaffs; and

b. 220 Bet money amounting to Two Hundred Twenty Pesos (Php 220.00) in different denominations.

Suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence are now under the custody of Taganaan MPS for proper disposition while among others are also being charged of said offense

for inquest proceedings.

Press Release – June 15, 2020 Apprehension of Suspect for Alarm and Scandal, Threats and Illegal Possession of Deadly Weapon

On June 14, 2020 around 3:50PM, PSSg Jeppy Paje Baguanga and PCpl Joy G Bayeta, personnel of Surigao City Police Station brought the suspect identified as Gleen Nuñez Edillor, 34 years old, male, with live-in partner, self-employed, and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay San Juan, Surigao City, for the crime of Alarm and Scandal, Threats, and Illegal Possession of Deadly Weapon, that transpired in Purok 1-B, Barangay San Juan, Surigao City, around 3:40PM of the same date.

 Initial investigation to the complainant Mr. Angelito Geron Salvador, 44 years old, with live-in partner, self-employed together with his live-in partner Ms. Erlinda Eliar Arci-Buche, both residents of aforesaid place, while inside of their house the suspect arrived believed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor armed with sharp bladed weapon (sundang) shouting and threatening them. That caused fear, alarm and disturbance among the residents. That prompted them to call for police assistance that resulted in the arrest of the suspect. Motive of the incident is previous grudges.

 Confiscated from the suspect possession one sharp bladed weapon (sundang) measuring Twenty (20) inches long including the handle. He was informed of his rights under Miranda Doctrine and Anti Torture Act during the arrest.

 Suspect is now in the custody of Surigao City Police Station for proper disposition and the case is now prepared for inquest proceeding.

Press Release – June 12, 2020 Campaign against Wanted Person

On June 14, 2020 around 8:10PM in Km-1, outside Miranda Hospital, Brgy.Washington, Surigao City a composite personnel from Basilisa MPS led by PCPT NURLSAN T MUHADALAM, RSOG 13 and Surigao City Police conducted  operation that resulted in the arrest of GEORGE GADIANA JAMIN a.k.a. ”Biano”, 43 years old, male, married, welder, Filipino, and a resident of Sitio 2, Santigao Apt., Brgy. Bahay Pare, Meycauayan City, Bulacan, and a native of Purok-5, Melgar, Basilisa, Dinagat Island by virtue of Warrant of Arrest dated July 2, 2018, issued by Presiding Judge Hon. TEODORA R GONZALES, RTC, Third Judicial Region, Branch 14, Malolos City, Bulacan. Subject was informed of his rights under Miranda Warning and Anti Torture Act during the arrest.

The arrested person is wanted for MURDER under Criminal Case No.3727-M-18 with

No bail recommended. Subject is in the custody of Surigao City Police Station for proper disposition.

Press Release – June 15, 2020 Fatal Shooting Incident

A fatal shooting incident that transpired in Purok Kalubihan, Brgy. San Isidro, Gigaquit, SDN, on June 14, 2020 around 8:30PM victimizing Reynaldo Rivas Canibel, 52 years old, married, vegetables and fruit vendor, and a resident of Purok Kalubihan, Brgy. San Isidro, Gigaquit, SDN, perpetrated unidentified male person.

Initial investigation revealed that victim was driving his tricycle towards to his home after getting some Gigaquit wine from his friend named Mansueto Azumen, while on his way all of a sudden unidentified person appeared ran towards the victim and shot the victim several times that caused his instantaneous death. After the incident the suspect fled to unknown direction. While the cadaver of the victim now lies at Gades Funeral Homes, Brgy Campo, Bacuag, SDN for post mortem examination.

Recovered from the crime scene one (1) fired cartridge case of caliber 9mm luger 60 RAI. Hot pursuit operation conducted by the personnel of Gigaquit MPS for possible identification and arrest of the suspect.
