Press Release – July 27, 2020 Disobedience and Resistance to Person in Authority in relation to R.A. 11332
On July 26, 2020 at about 7:30PM, PNP personnel of Burgos MPS received a phone call from concern citizen informing that there was a male foreigner got wild particularly at Poblacion 2, Burgos, Surigao del Norte. Accordingly, that foreigner was under the influence of intoxicating liquor and challenging anyone to fight.
As the responding officers arrived to the place of incident, suspect was identified as Britts Coltom (passport not obtained), Australian, male, 50 years old, retired Australian soldier and a temporary resident of Brgy. Alegria, Sta. Monica, Surigao del Norte. He was commanded to calm down and don’t move however he resisted and instead Mr. Coltom then quickly on board on his gray Susuki AVP with plate number TQJ 349, drive his vehicle and hurriedly left even he was instructed to stop. He was then chased and was then caught after he bumped a wooden road signage.
Suspect was then appraised on their constitutional rights under Miranda Doctrine and Anti-Torture Warning and brought to Burgos MPS for documentation and proper
