Report on Thief Incident

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

PSMg Lyndon M Gerarcas and PSSg Armin S Belda of Surigao City Police Station together with the personnel of 7 Eleven store apprehended a suspect identified as Janeth Alipao Morino, 23 years old, female, single, jobless, temporarily residing in Sitio Cayutan, Brgy. Cagniog, Surigao City and native of Purok-7, Brgy. San Francisco, Mainit, Surigao del Norte on January 16, 2019 around 1:30PM for the crime of “Theft” (shoplifting) that happened around 12:40PM, of the same date in 7 Eleven Store located at Caltex Gas station, Rizal Street, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City.

Investigation disclosed that the suspect was already monitored by the aforementioned authorities last January 14, 2020 around 2:20PM with the same modus operandi. Then around 12:40PM of the same date, the abovementioned suspect returned and noticed by Romy Alaan Madelo, duty security guard of 7 Eleven, 47 years old, male, married, under Golden Son Security Agency, and a native of Purok-2, Brgy. Biyabid, Sison, SDN, wherein she went inside the store and pretended as customer. Suspect intentionally took assorted grocery items and placed it inside her red backpack then proceeded to the cashier booth and paid only one item.  However, when suspect was about to go outside, without paying the items placed inside her backpack, the security guard approached and further asked her for the official receipt. But she failed to provide one which led to her apprehension and recovery of assorted items such as two pieces Birch Tree powdered milk, four pieces Bear Brand powdered milk, three pieces Kojic Acid soap and two Presto biscuits amounting to Php468.0. Suspect was eventually turned over to the aforementioned police officers in the area who were on duty during the incident.

After suspect was apprised of her constitutional rights and nature of her arrest to the language known and understood by her, the same was brought to Surigao City PS for disposition. Suspect is now temporarily detained in Surigao City Police Station subject for an inquest proceeding.

Traffic Accident

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

Surigao City Police Station received a call from PCpl Sabandal on January 6, 2020 around 9:10AM informing that there was a vehicular accident transpired along the National Highway, Km. 5 Brgy. Luna, Surigao City around 9:00AM, involving the following:

  1. Emelio R Febra (Pedestrian), of legal age, male, (Identified through SSS ID); and
  2. Johnny Rey Lingatong Palen (Motorist), 43 years old, male, married, unemployed, and a resident of Brgy. Mabua, Surigao City, holder of non-professional driver license no. K07-19-003206 expires 2024/01/22, driver of one unit matte green/gray Yamaha Sniper, bearing plate no.150108, under certificate of registration no. 335605966 dated 8/14/2019, and official receipt no. 1502955790 dated 8/8/2019, registered under his name, and Raymond Jay Farma Ladres (Back Rider), 27 years old, male, married, fishermen, and a resident of Brgy. Mabua, Surigao City.

Investigation conducted disclosed that, the pedestrian was recently on board as the passenger of a Multicab from City proper and alighted in front of Gaisano Capital. The latter walked across the road towards Gaisano Capital together with the other pedestrians, however, upon reaching in the middle of the road, he was bumped by a Yahama Sniper driven by Mr. Palen, who was travelling from Brgy. Mabua, towards Mainit, SDN. Due to the impact, the pedestrian fell on the road together with the motorist and back rider. The pedestrian sustained severe injury and was immediately rushed to Caraga Regional Hospital while the motorcycle incurred minor damages and the driver who sustained minor abrasion on the knee (left and right) and right elbow were  brought to Surigao City PS for proper disposition.

Qualified Theft

Personnel from Gaisano Capital Surigao brought to Surigao City Police Station the apprehended suspect identified as Rose-Ann Espaldon Esquerpo, 26 years old, female, cashier, and a resident of Purok-Makiangayon, Espina Street, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City on January 16, 2019 around 11:55PM for crime of “Qualified Theft” that transpired around 7:48PM, of January 16, 2020 inside Gaisano Capital Surigao. However, during the course of investigation, the suspect further disclosed her cohort to the IOC which a follow-up operation was then made by elements of this station that led to arrest of another female suspect identified as JUCEL SIANOSA ENOC, 22 years old, single, Gardenia merchandiser, and a resident of Purok-2, Poblacion, San Jose, Province of Dinagat Island, in her boarding house along km-3, Brgy. Luna, Surigao City around 12:10AM, of January 17, 2020.

Investigation disclosed, at aforementioned time date and place of incident both suspects willfully planned by taking assorted goods and placing it to the cellophane marked with GAISANO and discreetly putting a used previous official receipt indicating the different dates. However, when Jucel Enoc was about to go out, she was eventually detected by the duty security guards which led to the confiscation from her possession and control the assorted stolen items amounting to more or less Php3,500.00. Further revealed, that Rose-ann Esquerpo was the duty cashier at cashier booth number 21. While the former was the one who brought the items to the said cashier booth, the latter was the one who directly placed the items to the cellophane bag without punching it. The suspects “modus operandi” were found out upon further review from the CCTV footages.

After suspects were apprised of their constitutional rights and nature of their arrest to the language known and understood by them, the same were brought to Surigao City Police Station for disposition. Suspects is now temporarily detained to Surigao City PS subject for an inquest proceeding.
