Press Release – July 24, 2020 Arrest of Suspect for Violation of Municipal Ordinance No. 03-03 (Illegal Fishing with the use of air compressor)
A joint seaborne operation of Socorro MPS personnel and 1303rd Maritime PNP personnel under closed supervision of PCPT ALEX A CELIZ conducted anti-illegal fishing operation on July 23, 2020 around 6:00AM at the vicinity of Sitio Mating-ob, Barangay Salog, Socorro, Surigao del Norte and caught in the act the following persons illegally fishing with the used of fishing net with the aid of air compressor, identified as: Jason Adlao Paja, 37 years old, married, fisherman; Gelbert Abinido Palenta, 19 years old, single, fisherman; and Mark Jay Monares Paja, 21 years old, single, fisherman and all resident of Barangay Bitaugan, Surigao City.
Confiscated items during the operation were as follows; One unit pumboat color blue with double engine with 13HP each; two pairs Improvised diving pins; One bundle fishing net; One roll hose color green; and One improvised air compressor.
The arrested suspects were informed their constitutional rights under Miranda
Doctrine in the language known and understood by them including Anti-Torture Law.
Suspects and confiscated items are now at Socorro MPS for proper disposition and appropriate charge has been prepared for municipal adjudication board proceedings or for filling in court for proper sanction by virtue of the ordinance.
Arrest of Richard Lino Lumpay for Violation of R.A. 9165
Joints elements of Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) personnel of Surigao City PS together with PDEA RO 13, SDN conducted buy-bust operation on July 23, 2020 around 6:20PM, in Purok Mariposa, Narciso Street, (in-front of UCCP KNS), Brgy. Washington, Surigao City which resulted in the arrest of RICHARD LINO LUMPAY a.k.a. Chard, Filipino, male, 32 years old (11-22-87), unemployed and a resident of Paradise Street, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City. The subject person was informed of his Constitutional Rights under the Miranda Doctrine and the Anti-Torture Law upon his arrest. The aforesaid arrested suspect was indicated in the Regional List on Illegal Drug Personalities.
Confiscated items from the possession and control of suspect were listed as follows;
- One plastic sachet of suspected shabu bought by the poseur-buyer from the suspects with an estimated weight of more or less 0.05 gram with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of Five Hundred Ninety Pesos (P 590.00) @ (Php 11,800.00) per gram;
- One Genuine Five Hundred Peso bill (P 500.00) marked money;
- One Red OPPO cellular phone; and
- Three plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 0.15 gram with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of One Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy Pesos (P 1,770.00) @ (Php 11,800.00) per gram.
The body search were done in an orderly manner and duly witnessed by Hon. Jesirick Leyson Brgy. Kagawad of Brgy. Washington, Surigao City and Mr. Jerson Galotera, Media representative from RMN-DXRS Radio Station.
Cases for violation of RA 9165 were being readied for filing in court against the mentioned suspect.
Press Release – July 24, 2020 Report on Apprehension of Person with Warrant of Arrest
On July 23, 2020 at about 3:00PM in Purok Diamond, P-Reyes Extension Brgy Taft, Surigao City, personnel from San Benito Municipal Police Station led by PLT NOEL CRES C BUQUE, Officer In-Charge of San Benito MPS(led unit) and personnel from Surigao City Police Station, Subpoena/Warrant Section arrested Lynard Concha Taglucop, Filipino, male, 45 years old, married, driver, a resident of Brgy Nuevo Campo, San Benito, Surigao del Norte, by Virtue of Warrant of Arrest charged for Qualified Theft docketed under Criminal Case No. 20-45 dated June 23, 2020 issued by Hon. Cesar P. Bordalba, Presiding Judge of RTC Br. 31, Dapa, Surigao del Norte with recommended bail bond of Thirty Thousand Pesos (Php30,000.00).
The arresting Police Officers duly presented the aforesaid Warrant of Arrest and informed his constitutional Rights under the Miranda Doctrine and Anti-Torture Law. Subject accused was presently under the custody of Surigao City Police Station for documentation and proper disposition from the issuing court.
