Accomplishment on Illegal Fishing

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

Personnel of San Benito Municipal Police Station led by PLT JONIEL FORCADILLA RACHO, OIC, conducted seaborne patrolling on January 29, 2020 around 2:30PM within the municipal sea water of San Benito which eventually resulted in the arrest of two (2) fishermen namely Anonhi Baquelo Geraldino, 61 years old, married, male, Filipino; and Jayson Eludo Geraldino, 38 years old, male, married, Filipino, both residents of Purok 4 Barangay Talisay, San Benito, Surigao del Norte.

Said fishermen were caught in the act engaged in fishing activity using air compressor locally known as “buso” inside the municipal water of the said municipality without fishing permit.

Confiscated from the suspects possession and control  were the following:

  • One yellow pump boat;
  • One 6HP Honda engine;
  • One air compressor;
  • More or less forty (40) meters hose;
  • Two improvised flipper;
  • One improvised spear gun; and
  • Three and one half kilograms of assorted fish

Further, the arrested suspects and the confiscated items were brought to Malimono Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.

Accomplishment on Illegal Fishing

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

Personnel of Mainit Municipal Police Station together with Bantay Danaw of Municipality of Mainit conducted illegal fishing operation on January 29, 2020 around 4:30PM at Brgy. Mabini, Mainit, Surigao del Norte which eventually resulted in the arrest of RAYMUNDO PALABRICA DIAZ, male, single, 18 years old, farmer; and DANIEL  PALABRICA DIAZ, male, single, 19 years old, farmer, and both residents of Purok Bougainvillea, Brgy. Mabini, Mainit, Surigao del Norte for violation of Municipal Ordinance Nr. 2003-05 Fishing with the Use of Fine Mesh Net. Arrested persons were informed of their rights under the Miranda Warning and Anti-Torture Act.

Confiscated from suspects possession and control were the following;

  1. Fine Mesh Net more or less one hundred fifty (150) meters length; and
  2. Fish locally known as “BOLINAW” more or less thirty (30) kilos with an estimated market value of two thousand five hundred pesos (P2,500.00).

Further, the arrested suspects and the confiscated items were brought to Mainit Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Accomplishment on Illegal Drugs

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

Personnel of Surigao del Norte PPO DEU led by PMAJ NIRA B PEROCHO conducted buy-bust operation on January 29, 2020 at around 09:15PM under Pre-Ops No. 30003-012020-0104 at Borromeo Street, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City that resulted in the arrest of Jed Buaya Maturan, aka “Tonton”, 25 years old, male, single, employee of Novo General Merchandise,  and a resident of Purok1, Brgy. Togbongon, Surigao City. Arrested person was informed of his rights under the Miranda Warning and Anti-Torture Act.

Confiscated from the suspect during the operation were the following;

  • One Five Hundred Peso bill (P 500.00) marked money;
  • One sachet of suspected shabu bought by the poseur buyer from the suspect;
  • One coin purse containing two sachets of suspected shabu (Possession); and
  • One yellow single motorcycle Suzuki FW 110  bearing a plate no. 150107 with key.

All suspected shabu has an estimated accumulated weight of 1 gram with SDP value of eleven thousand eight hundred pesos (Php11,800.00).

Cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Art 2 of R.A.  9165 are being prepared for filling in court against the suspect.

The inventory and markings of pieces of evidence were done in the area of operation. The body search was done in orderly manner in the presence of Hon. Marcon O Quinto, Brgy. Kagawad of Brgy Taft, Surigao City; Mr. Jerson Galotera, Media Representative (DXRS Radio Station); and Mr. Vladimir L Ensomo, DOJ representative, Surigao City Prosecutor’s Office.

 

The suspect is now temporarily detained in custodial facility of Surigao City Police Station.

Voluntary Surrender Wanted Person

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

Edgar Ramon Gamayon Amit, 32 years old, single, male, and a resident of Purok 4, Poblacion, Santiago, Agusan del Norte came before Claver Municipal Police Station on January 29, 2020 around 9:30AM and voluntarily surrender/submit himself.

Subject person is wanted for the crime of ESTAFA under criminal case number 2019-29 issued by the Hon. Judge Melinda B. Mantilla of MCTC Claver-Gigaquit, SDN on January 2, 2020 with a recommended bail amounting to One Hundred Twenty Thousand (P120,000.00)Pesos.

Accused is now under custody of Claver Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and subsequent turn-over to the issuing court and commitment to the District Jail Warden.

Accomplishment on Recovery of Stolen Motorcycle

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

Personnel of Taganaan Municipal Police Station with the presence of the Brgy. Captain of Upper Libas, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte, Hon. Rogelio Besario, were conducting route security along national highway of Brgy. Upper Libas, Tagana-an, SDN on January 29, 2020 around 11:30AM when a Grey XRM 125 motorcycle with plate number MS 33568 was driven by a suspicious minor wherein Hon. Rogelio Besario cannot recognized him as his constituent prompted them to flagged down his driven motorcycle. The minor TNW, 13 years old, out of school youth, and a resident of Brgy San Isidro, Mainit, Surigao del Norte was unable to present any motorcycle documents and brought to Taganaan Municipal Police Station for further investigation and proper disposition.

 During investigation, the Certificate of Registration and Official Receipt were found from the U-box seat compartment of the said motorcycle bearing the name of a certain Ernie A Uy, a resident of Mainit, Surigao del Norte. Subsequently, a coordination was made to Mainit Municipal Police Station and found out positive that at about 8:30AM of same date, they received report from Mr. Ernie A Uy that his grey XRM 125 motorcycle with same plate number was missing. Personnel of Mainit Municipal Police Station together with the complainant arrived at Taganaan Municipal Police Station and the minor suspect along with the recovered motorcycle was properly turned-over to Mainit MPS personnel for proper disposition.

Arrest of Persons for Violation of Municipal Ordinance No. 03-03 (Illegal Extraction of White Sands)

SURIGAO DEL NORTE POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE

A cellular phone call from Lordelito Labe, Kagawad of Brgy. Riza, Socorro, Surigao del Nortel was received by PSSg Erec J Sanico, OPN PNCO and duty desk officer of Socorro Municipal Police Station on January 29, 2020 around 10:55PM informing that there were unidentified male individuals  seen hauling and extracting sacks of white sands which boarded in the two boats along the shore in Brgy. Rizal, Socorro, Surigao del Norte.

Personnel of Socorro Municipal Police Station led by PSMS Ryan Bruce D Lasala conducted Anti-Illegal Extraction of White Sand Operation and proceeded to the reported place. Thereat, around 11:20PM, the suspects were caught in the act hauling and extracting sacks of white sands boarded in two (2) units of non-engine boat which resulted in the arrest of five (5) individuals identified as:

  1. Ronald Buntad Rosillo, a.k.a. Loloy, 35 years old, male, Filipino, married, fisherman;
  2. Bembo Garrido Orellanida, a.k.a. Bembo, 22 years old, male, Filipino, single, fisherman;
  3. Jan Jan Besas Yamson, a.k.a Janjan, 22 years old, male, Filipino, single, fisherman;
  4. Wilbert Rudela Gelsano, a.k.a. Wewe, 19 years old, male, Filipino, single, fisherman; and
  5. Ingong Abao Pangatungan, a.k.a. Ingong, 18 years old, male, Filipino, single, fisherman,

All residents of Brgy. Rizal, Socorro, Surigao del Norte while one suspect was able to evade arrest   Arrested persons were informed of their rights under the Miranda Warning and Anti-Torture Act. Initial Investigation disclosed that suspect who evaded arrest was later identified as Rene Buntad, a.k.a. Boy of legal age, male, Filipino, married, businessman, and a resident of Barangay Rizal, Socorro, Surigao del Norte, who is also the buyer of white sands.

Confiscated during the operation were two (2) units of non-engine boats and Twenty five (25) sacks of White Sands.

Arrested Suspects together with the confiscated items were brought to Socorro Municipal Police Station for custody. Case for Violation of Section 66 of Municipal Ordinance No. 03-03 is now being prepared for Municipal Adjudication Board Proceedings or for filing in court.
