Surigao del Norte—Elements of San Francisco Municipal Polie Station (MPS) and Surigao City Police Station (CPS) jailed three illegal fishers and one thief in a separate operations today, April 4, 2021.
Provincial Director (PD) Police Colonel Noel C Espinoza identified the offenders as Jose Gayona, 43 years old; Zaldy Peleño, 55 years old; Albarito Ganohay, 43 years old, all are residents of San Jose, Dinagat Islands and Richard Batucan aka Pating, 32 years old and a resident of Purok 4, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City.
San Francisco MPS conducted seaborne patrol operation around 12:00PM in the sea water of Barangay Jubgan, San Francisco, SDN resulting to the arrest of three illegal fishers for Violation of Republic Act 10654 Section 65 (The Philippine Fisheries code of 1998).
Meanwhile, Surigao CPS acted on the report of a witness and victims that cellular phones, tablet, envelopes for donation and other personal belongings amounting to Php 31, 700.00 were stolen by Batucan. Said offender was apprehended around 11:10 AM in his residence, Purok 4, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City for the crime of Theft.
“In this consecrated time of pandemic, it is inevitable for our fellows to get resources even at unlawful means. I commend my troops for their endless pursuit of these offenders,” PD ended.
